Yeah - I realize I may have paid too much, but I wanted an 89 964 - just like the interior without airbags. I also liked the rare color, the sports seats, and that it was only owned by a single family in its life. 964 values are on the up. I figured I better get back in before they passed me by.

Yeah - the leakdown numbers don't look good for #2. I'm going to do a tune-up when I get it - plugs, plug wires, oil, valve adjustment, brake fluid. I'm a decent wrench, so I'll do it myself. We'll see what happens.
I would redo the leakdown and a compression test. A borescope of the cylinder and a check of the head studs first. I f you need to drop the engine you might as well check everything before you spend anything on it.

BTW GL and hope it is less an issue than you think.

Thanks. I appreciate it. I think all of the bidders saw it has a big issue. I'm actually not that worried. The biggest downside to this was that I had to sell my 73 BMW 2002 to make room. Gonna miss my Roundie.

I will repeat the leakdown test when I'm adjusting the valves, and check compression as well. My borescope died a few years ago, but I'll see if I can borrow one.

I understand the quandary. I went down that road many decades ago and wish I could have kept a few. After a number of bad experiences with newer versions and poor customer support I swore them off along with MB. The 964 is a unique experience and when you get the car right you will appreciate what you have and the 2002 will be a fond but distant memory. Pano is a decent magazine I hope you decide to experience what PCA has to offer. Every region is different but for the fee it is worth a year.

Well, both the cars are already sold, the 964 maybe one if the quickest selling cars on the market when sellers aren’t asking unreasonable prices

Personally I think Tarek’s cars are priced for a quick sale, he’s leaving money on the table and could get more if he wanted. He vets them out and takes care of any issues up front so the buyer gets an honest description and good car.

Thanks.

The new owner of my Roundie got it today. He already loves it, and that makes me very happy.

964 arrives tomorrow. Can't wait.

Hey guys - car came today, and it is stunning. The color is better in real life than in the pictures. I had forgotten how refined the 964 is compared to the 3.2L cars.

I'm so happy. It's fantastic.

Congrats! Enjoy that beauty in good health.

The 964 is refined and yet it still has that old school feel, best of both worlds.

You might consider adjusting the tail pipe. It is pushed up against the bumper and can melt it if you're not careful. Looks very happy. Whats under the covers
