17" Ruf Speedlines - 8Jx17ET56.7 & 9Jx17ET44 on '93 C4 NB
Hey all,
I have a 1993 964 C4 narrow body coupe that I'm looking to acquire some 17" Ruf by Speedline wheels for. The wheels themselves are 8Jx17ET56.7 for the front and 9Jx17ET44 and rear. The ride height is set to near ROW (no longer US-spec SUV height) on stock US dampers. My questions are: will those offsets work fit a narrow body car without too much modification? And with it being a C4, will the wheels themselves function well with the PDAS system? The tires I'm looking at are 225/45/17 front tires and 255/40/17 rears unless someone can point me elsewhere. A similar question was raised in another thread (post #14 in https://rennlist.com/forums/wheel-an...he-wheels.html) - but it was a revival post attempt on an ancient thread. Other than that, I haven't been able to find any info. I'm between the Ruf's and a set of 17" BBS Sport Classic's :icon107: I appreciate any help guys. |
Here’s a good link with the offsets: https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...firmation.html I’ll go back and look at what size tires I installed and post later today. |
Here are some pics of my wheels with offset. The tire sizes are also correct, that’s what’s I’m running on mine. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...ff5270773.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...ca4f8f177.jpeg |
Thank you very much! I don't know how I missed that thread, it would've been quite useful. Is your Targa a C2 or a C4? If it's a C4, any issues with rubbing at full lock or the PDAS system? Spacers needed for fitment? That is a beautiful car, even more so with those wheels.

No spacers are needed, they fit perfectly. My front wheels do rub slightly on full lock but that’s due to having the incorrect steering stops on my car, if I remember correctly Porsche changed this on 1992 and later cars to handle the wider tires so you should be fine. My Targa is a C2 so I can’t really offer any comment on the PDAS but I have to think that the tire sizes are similar or the same as what would be used on Cup I Wheels? Hopefully someone can chime in on that. Thanks for the compliment, the wheels really did help tie everything together and get it looking the way I wanted. Gotta love 964’s and the ability to tailor them to our taste! If you’re still undecided on the wheels, here’s another shot to help you decide: :D https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...7090cdb49.jpeg |
I have the same RUF Speedline wheels as well and I'm an 89 C4. Like Marine Blue, I also rub a little on full lock. I recently added a 3mm spacer and the rub is nearly all gone. I'm running 225/45/17 front tires and 255/40/17 rears same tire that were on my CUP wheels.

I’m currently running the same wheels and offset. Im also running 15mm spacers all around. The 15mm spacer is a bit much for the rear as it rubs so I will move to a 7mm soon. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...96fc016e2.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...690a9e5fd.jpeg |

I am guessing you installed extended studs? Did you do it yourself? and which studs did you use?
