Default Ruf Wheel Offset Confirmation

I'm looking a set of Ruf wheels to install on a '93 Targa, the owner says the were made for a narrow body 964/993.

Sizes are:

Front 8.5x18 ET61

Rear 9.5x18 ET48.3

The car will be lowered with H&R Greens and Bilstein HD's

Also what tire sizes would be a good fit?

Thanks,

JF

Love Rufs!
8.5 seems too wide up front,
10 will work in back.

Will let those with experience chime in.

Great article here:

The fronts are a bit on the wide side, 8" would be better, and the offset is wrong, should be around et50. The rears should be OK.

Thanks for your reply, isn't the higher offset due to the wheel being 8.5" rather than 8"?

The offsets don't sound right.

Offset: 8,5 x 18: 58 mm, 10 x 18: 66 mm
R65 300 360 01
It is required to install steer angle limiters at the front axle (standard on the works 17'').
8,5 x 18 10 x 18 225/40 ZR 18 265/35 ZR 18
Rear 15 mm spacers

For what its worth, I have the 17" Rufs and they are 8 and 9 inches wide with offsets of 56 and 47.

Default Ruf Wheels

I have had 18" Ruf wheels on 2 - 964 narrow bodied cars (both targas). Bought new from Ruf in Dallas. This is from Ruf.wheel.pdf

Yep, thanks.. interesting that his are listed as 47 rear offset, but the black ones I am looking at are listed as 44 offset...
Not sure if that is an indication as to whether they are genuine or not. ??

They should be stamped with size an offset on them if they are real. Ask the seller:

It should be 56.7 for the 8". They have a TüV certificate and were advertised for Carrera 2 and 4. Original tires would have been in 215/50 and 235/45 or 235/45 and 255/40.

Michael,

Yes they will fit fine. However, for this particular wheel, RUF also had a 17x10 that was for the 964. What you have on the rear, 17x9 ET44, was for the 944 fitment. you will be fine running them just with narrower tires than the ideal 10'' can accommodate.
