Thanks. I can't say enough good things about the 964 platform, but I may be a bit biased. IMO the 964 is, and always will be, the best looking 911 generation. I also find it to be the sweet spot of the air-cooled range...modern enough I can actually daily drive it most of the summer with the a/c on, but still retains much of the original 911 feel - it hasn't become "soft".

It's now January in Ontario, which usually means freezing cold and lots of snow, but for some reason this year we've been given warm & sunny weather so far. Caved and took the car out to run some errands today.

I have no regrets with my choice (993) but admire the 964 just as much and frequently stalk this board. Just thought I’d add my congratulations on a beautiful car and sensible mods. It looks great already and I’m guessing you’re not done. Also admire the road trip home; as you say it’s a great way to bond. I purchased mine in Toronto ~18 months ago and my 13 year old daughter flew out with me to pick it up. We had a blast on our indirect 1,300+ mile trip home to Minneapolis.
Enjoy in in good health!

Congrats! The 964 was always "the" car for me too and always pictured myself with one. You work hard enough, you can reach those goals. Enjoy it and drive the snot out of it!
Oh and don't forget to take before and after videos of the exhaust

You may have, the previous owner was (is) a good guy/Porsche fanatic. It lived a different life up there, though, safe from the elements and preserved in semi-garage queen status. Now it’s basically my three season daily driver gleefully used in all types of conditions for over 12,000 mile, including a second 1,800 mile road trip.
I don’t mean to hijack your thread though, just wanted to let you know it looks great.

For this weeks entertainment, I decided to buy a small collection of 964 memorabilia from 1989/1990 to go with the car. Most of this came from a Porsche head office marketing employee in Toronto who retired and had accumulated a lot of stuff in his years with the company. Brochures, posters, calendar, etc. Nothing overly exciting but nonetheless some interesting artifacts to go with the car.
Some brochures
Giant 964 C4 poster - I have a few duplicates of this one in case anyone is interested in picking one up
1989 Model Range poster
Some especially cool photos in the calendar
A personal favourite - the VentureTour poster of which my car is likely a part of
AWD system
Engine
Original insert with all available options

Love the block image of the front of the 964 in the technical manual. Would make for a cool t-shirt image.
Porsche nailed the text too, I read like that they already knew how these cars would be appreciated by enthusiasts 30 years later!

In the Porsche Carrera, we have the good fortune of creating a lasting design, By building it to survive, we offer those who understand what is fleeting and what is perpetual a very special car
The goal for the Carrera body is to ignore time
Legend with a future: the air-cooled horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine

For sure, it's packed with stuff. Hoping I can get around to scanning it into a PDF.

I haven't had the time (or interest) in going out into the cold garage and installing my exhaust yet...gotta love winter...but fortunately I can still waste money on cars without leaving the comfort of my office. Found a set of OEM 930/959/964 sport seats on Craigslist and scooped 'em up for the car. Should be here in a few days. 4-way power & heated! Will make a nice replacement for my worn out stock 4 ways.
