Upgrades & Maint.
HI
Can anyone tell me where's the best place to buy spark plug wires for a 1994 964?
also was thinking about drilled rotors, what are the best street brake pads?
Does anyone have experience with the open end Air cleaner covers that are supposed to help the engine develop more HP?
Also my Porsche factory CD radio has stopped playing CDs...is this a part that is not worth fixing?
Thanks
Regards
Randal

Hi Randal:
Since Magnecor doesn't make plug wires for the 3.6, you must use the Factory ones. See if a dealer has a discount on them,....try Sunset Porsche.
Drilled rotors are more crack-prone and I would not install them unless you do a big brake upgrade. The larger 993 TT brakes (322mmx32mm) cross-drilled rotors are much more durable than the stock ones you have if you are participating in DE events.
For a tad more throttle response, you can drill some holes (5-6, 1.5") in your air cleaner cover. The price is right and it helps a bit,....
Sorry, I cannot help on the CD player. Usually its cheaper to get a another one.

In reply to your CD radio not playing CD's anymore, I have the same problem with my CD-2 radio. I have searched the forums and the WEB and found 2 places which repair this radio. I called them both and they said they are very familiar with the problem, can fix the radio and give a one year warranty. One is in Florida and the other is in California.

I haven't sent mine for repair yet so I have no experience with eithers service.

Race Car
This is progress over the 'no plans' status of the past few years.
I too am a big Magnecore fan, have them on my Toyota Racer and ALL of my P-Cars in the past...none for the 964 to date.
Randal, I suggest to either wait for Magnecore's release or buy the factory set...both sets are pricey, but replacing my factory set with new made a nice "peppy" difference on my 964.
