I may be ignorant and I hope this doesn't sound to pedantic but has anyone tried a simple belt spray to see if it gets rid of the noise? If it does, source is found. Easy way to isolate the culprit.

Hey jeff - I've never heard of belt spray - is that a permanent fixer, or just a temporary deal??? Interesting... I might try water as mentioned by mojorizing...

Peter - I think you sealed the deal - -I'll just change out those damn belts and hopefully be done with the noise as you did!!

I'll keep ya' posted!

It's also called "belt dressing"....it gives the belt better grip, but it corrects the symptom, not the problem. Most auto parts stores carry it.
