Default Rear defrost/rear windshield question

One of my 964's has its rear defrost not working. The dash **** operates and lights up but no defrost action in the rear glass at all.

Took to shop, shop said the circuit is fine, the glass is bad (high resistance thru glass), I would need to replace the rear glass to get the defrost circuit working properly.

1. Does this sound right? Anything else to check before pursuing rear glass replacement?
2. What is typical cost for rear glass replacement? I have heard rear glass is much more money than front windshield.
3. 964 rear glass same as 993 or earlier cars?

Thanks

Really? Ok. I have one. In garage. Are they sure the relay is good?
Does yours have rear wiper?

if the metal bits have broken they can be repaired. Did they verify the connections at the glass?

I don’t know about the Coupe rear window but on my Targa the defrost traces are on the inner surface of the glass, they are not embedded. If a trace is broken or whatever you can buy a conductive paint to repair the trace. If they are somehow all bad then maybe cheaper to replace the glass; but it seems unlikely that they would all be bad without you noticing scratch lines, corrosion, or something. More likely a bad connection at the edge of the glass or a bad relay.
