What could be the problem ? from what I can see, the control arms look the same and it's mounted the same. I confused. Please advise

My alignment guy maxed out caster on my 87 g body (since.sold). It hugely improved turn in, but it made the car noticeably less stable at high speeds-- say over 95 mph. I'd have to take grip the wheel and make constant correction to keep it tracking straight.

Increased caster does the opposite of this. High speed stability improves and steering response gets dulled. Think of a motorcycle with extended forks.

For the “is more better question”, gt4 runs 8.0-9.2. Think of it as dynamic camber.

Edit: Has anyone looked into using 993 top mounts? I believe those mounts are where the extra 993 caster comes from.

Thanks for pointing that out. I had it backwards! Let me go through my records to to to figure out what happened.

Black 3.2 your alignment guy probably added too much toe - I’m due for an alignment myself for the same thing. Carrying too much toe she likes to follow every line in the road like a puppy following scents.

^ Good call. Easy to add responsiveness with toe-out.

Re-reading, hope that didn’t come across as a dig on your knowledge Black. Just trying to avoid muddying the waters, which are already full of 3d geometry witchcraft

No, I legit appreciated it. I'm here to learn.

He did say he maxed out the caster, but I wonder if he maxed it out by reducing it all the way. If I remember correctly, he wanted to effectively shorten the wheelbase to make the car more tossable in the twisties, since that was my priority.
