Default Eccentric steering wheel

Was wondering if any one has one and can share details on experience. Was thinking about MOMO Prototipo with eccentric hub adapter to create a bit more space for myself

I have the eccentric hub with my Prototipo. I find that it really improved the driving position, more clearance over the thighs and I don't have to stretch to reach the wheel.
I'm average height, but it seems like the original steering wheel position is more '70s style with ones arms more outstretched than is recommended these days.

Cheers,
Tore

Does it feel weird when the wheel goes up and down with the full turns?

No, I don't notice a thing. After I put it in, it was like, 'wow look at that', but things are fine, no problems.
From watching car shows, it seems a lot of cars have off-center steering wheels.

prototipo with eccentric adapter. i'm 6'4 and the adapter improved gauge view, better right leg clearance. Doesn't feel weird at all.

@Feudal Serf Thanks for sharing. I'm 6'2. Nice to know there is a relatively easy solution for the space problem! How deep is the dish on on your steering wheel?

The stock wheel is also eccentric. Many cars are like this from the factory.

I have one, too. I have a prototipo as well. I actually have another spacer in there too. I needed it as i used to do a lot of squats and my legs had a hard time sliding under. Before the top of the guages were obstructed and now i can see them all so thats a bonus. After a week you won’t even notice the off center aspect.

Interestingly enough, I noticed that my OEM 996TT steering wheel is also eccentric I guess this would answer my question.
But how deep of the dish for the Prototipo?

Interesting, I always thought it would make the driving experience really weird. I may have to try one so that I can see my gauges again.

spacer is 8mm
wheel is the mod 7 and 70mm

i have considered doing something about the cruise control stalk. But it’s not that much in the way.
