Wheel color?
ive had some 17” cup II wheels at a powder coater for some time and i better pick a color before he throws them in a recycling bin
id like something other than the factory silver
i will occasionally put them on a black/black 993 or a diamond blue/drk blue 964
so just curious if you can recommend a color that would look decent on both
a friend told me a dark burgundy would look good with the diamond blue but I’m not sure i agree
ive considered bronze or orange
black and white are out of the question
anyway this is just a dumb topic but I appreciate any input

Was in the same position last year on this - silver wheels on velvet red body just stood out way too much. Needed wheels of a contrast similar to that of the body so as not to distract (see the wheels before you see the car). Had some old metallic grey wheels I found on ebay years ago and just tried these on. Neighbor noticed the change straightaway and said the car looked more 'complete' and 'purposeful'. Refurbed the wheels and powder coated in Anthracite grey. Now same colour contrast as rest of body, love the whole look.
Black bodywork? Bronze/dark gold would be my choice. Or could go the other way - dark grey? Orange would need tying in with something else (i.e. calipers, decals or other same colour highlights).

I was going to say something a little darker but not too dark, like a smoked chrome look (like older BMW M rims). Different, classy and keeps the market open for them if you want to sell.
But when you said that you've considered orange... you definitely want something bolder. I like the bronze idea.

I would lean more towards a matte gold like this car: http://www.tunersmotorsports.com/res...oupe-for-sale/

Even Porsche approves of Gold... Aurum as a option on the new GT3 RS.

Gold could be good, like above. Specifically the darker, IMO.
White wheels can also look really good on black, blue and red cars, IMO. If I wasn't lazy I'd search some images

I was going to suggest dark grey then I saw Streetdaddy's car. Now I'm ready to *insist* on it. I had a set of Audi wheels powder coated in dark grey for a silver car, then put them on a grey car. They looked good on both. Then I bought a black RS6 and went with anthracite wheels again.
After years of seeing pictures of 911Jetta's slate grey car with black wheels, I thought I'd go that route on my slate grey 964. Then I thought about color-matching the wheels to slate grey. For the time being I am going to leave them silver since they are in good condition. I can always change them later.

+1 on an anthracite grey colour.
I also second the post on the smoked grey of the M wheels.
Am considering buying a set of Cup1s and anthraciting them to go on my Dark Blue. Normal silver seems a bit boring but classic.
