Default What sports cam?

I'm having my engine rebuilt and whilst everything is apart I'm looking to install some (Sporty Cams)?
The standard EFI will be kept and some work on the heads will be carried out.

Can anyone suggest a seller/manufacturer of some mild sports cams?

Best regards, Daz

I don't think you can improve much the 964 cams given the rest staying mildly stock but I would also be interested to hear others feedback.

My engine was rebuilt with Schrick sportcams and today is going to be adjusted in following days.

Setup is:
  • Original Motronic 2.1
  • RS clutch
  • Light flywheel
  • G pipe
  • 100cell kat
  • 993 coils
  • Schrick "sport" / 005.L/R1.880-02
    • Duration: 288 degree / 280 degree
      Lift: 13,2mm / 13,2mm
Before Oktober(fest) I should know results.

Porkydaz, figure out what engine management you will be using, who will be tuning it, then ask them to match an intake, exhaust, and cam package. If you're having a new engine built, your engine builder and tuner should be on the same page about this as well.

Pretty much same setup what I have coming in the end of this year. Except coils. Nice to hear your feedback of this setup.

I guess it is calculated upon what the head could flow.
Anything else could be pointless.

You will need to have the engine remapped if you cange the cams. Wayne Schofield is the goto man in the UK for this work.

Car was dropped to tuner yesterday and he booked dyno for 27/28.9.18... Then we know figures.

Coil change is easy if You want to do that also. I can explain it in Finnish if You want.

Now car is done and results were:
281.3PS / 6168 1/min
347.2Nm / 4828 1/min

Week before mine was done there was similar 964 with complete stock engine which did 210PS.

Before start rebuilding my car was dynoed in different place 247PS with Wong chip. Now I just have to get car back home and I will go to the same dyno to get numbers and I can do somekind of comparison.

Finally I managed to get dynoed.

Before rebuilding stock engine with G-pipe and 100cell cat it did 179,8 Pmax / 165,5kW Pwheel with Wong chip (I didnt knew it was even there...)

Today with modifications listed earlier it did 222,1kW Pmax / 203,1kW Pwheel. --> delta P = 37,5kW. Success?

Chip tuning was done by www.erikoismoottori.fi

Now it is time to go to winter mode.

Hello,
Thank you !
Not sure to be able to convert, is that 297.8 bhp ?
what is your final torque figure ? 388.7 Nm = 286.7 ft/lbs at 4810 rpm ?
Is those figures at the wheels or crank ?
Have you fitted bigger injectors ?
Did they gave you an AFR plot ? to see how is the mixture across the RPMs ?

Cheers

Unit conversions seems to be ok for my eye. All mods listed earlier. Injectors are afaik stock, but cleaned.

Ppyörä = Pwheel and Pmax is calculated to crank.

The same data from different dyno. "before" data n/a. AFR n/a..
