Recaro spg kevlar with the crest...
Hi,
Does anyone know if the 964 RS had an option You could order the car with Recaro SPG seats in kevlar (with the crest in the back)?
Or, was it just cup cars that had them? I got one in my car, i got it many years ago and I did not bother to think about it at the time..

I'm not convinced that crest wasn't added to that seat, but if someone can prove me wrong, that would be cool.
Tons of good info in this thread, might be worth a crosspost.

Cool seat! If anything, that's a 993-era Cup seat (based on shell ribbing and belt hole trimmings), but the date should be on that side sticker. Unless it's a one-off factory part, which is possible because it's kevlar, it may have a sticker with Porsche part number (likely 964.521.xxx.xx) under the seat. That particular patch was sewn to some later 90's seats, but also sold separately by Porsche as a jacket patch.

Yes and no - same factory part number but revised design by Recaro. Besides the Kevlar aspect, the Profi SPG in the 964 had different ribbing and the seat covers had a vinyl pull glued to the shell at the belt holes. Also crest design. The 993-era Profi SPG looks like the seat available today.

I have another Kevlar seat made by Recaro for Porsche, but for the 1998 GT1. Weighs nothing, and is incredibly stiff.
Edit: weighs 1951 grams. Too bad it is so large, or I'd be using it.
