Default a different type of engine stall problem...

hey rennlisters. i’m having issues with my 3.6 transplant. engine fires up fine but pretty much cuts out exactly 5 -7 seconds after it starts. whether idling or on the throttle it just cuts out. any ideas what’s causing this? i’ve ordered an o2 sensor, ISV valve, dme relay, sw chip ( i have a LWF) but yet to receive them. hoping that’ll solve it but for some reason it seems like it’s my fuel pump switching off.

thoughts?

Should be easy to probe the voltage at the fuel pump while starting the car. Good place to start?

You could try jumping the DME relay to eliminate that...

Do you have a Bosch Hammer or Durametric to scan the ECU?

i dont have the hammer unfortunately. i’m gonna take a meter to the fuel power supply and see what happens. can you jump the relay with the rounded type connections? i have the non-blade type.

When the engine stops running, test for spark & fuel at the rails.
