Non starting 964 C2 but has fuel and spark
Hi,
My UK 1990 C2 has been running fine but the other day after the car had been standing for a week it started as usual, coughed a few times then died. I haven't been able to start it since.
It spins over freely on the starter, has a yellowy spark and I can smell fuel in the exhaust. I tried a different DME but that didn't work.
It does make an brief attempt to start the first time I try to start it in the morning but then it will just turn over and make no attempt at all.
I did change the crank position sensor last year.
I've also cleaned out the idle speed adjuster.
Any ideas please??

Burning Brakes
What coils?
Fuel pressure regulator issue perhaps (check functioning)?
What is the fuel pressure during cranking?
Does throttle input make a difference?
Idle switch closed when no throttle input?
Air Flow meter working properly?
Air filter clean?
Could also be a combo of things.
I know this isn't the greatest reply, but it is a bit of a stab in the dark at the moment. Need a bit more info.

Hi, there is plenty of fuel pressure. I don't think the injectors are pulsing as I took a plug out and it was dry as a bone.
The ignition seems fine with a decent spark.

Fixed
I've fixed it.
When I changed the crank position sensor they come with a different style connector so I had to cut the old one off and splice on the new one.
One wire is an earth and a stray strand was touching the live. Connector tidied up and it's running fine.
cheers
