my dream 964 and some of my 3D model work
Hey all, I don't post much on RL, but thought some of you might like this.
I do car art as a hobby (about 98% Porsche) and was totally smitten by Bobs America GS. Of course, trying to digitally recreate the amount of work that's into that car is unrealistic for a mere mortal, but modeling the wheels and putting them on a Turbo S Leichtbau is right up my alley. Generally I do 3D modeling, then render the models in scenes to produce these images. The cars themselves are usually a mix of scratch built models and purchased models.
I hope you all enjoy!
Another notable but unrelated project is my engine. I took this engine apart in real life and modeled each piece separately on my kitchen table. As you can imagine my wife wasn't too pleased...

and yes, all the internals are done.

Very cool...

Would you be open to modeling build concepts? I can picture my plan in my head but would be awesome to see it in print. It's pretty close to what you have, already

Oh, I’ve seen your work on TCL.

I think it's time Petrolicious started producing videos featuring automotive artists such as yourself.

Very nicely done. It is a new form of art no doubt. Turbo S lightweight is a great choice. Nobody would notice but the rear brakes are wrong you have 993 turbo rears vs the smaller 964 turbo rears but that is just my **** pickiness.
Bob's America GS is the most gorgeous color you will ever see on a WB 964 although this would be great to see if it actually existed.

Wow, looks amazing. Sorry for my ignorance but when you say modeling do you mean the parts were made of clay and painted or digitally modeled? Regardless, it so intricate and detailed. Also, is the purple car a model? I am unsure what is real or a model which in the end is the point I guess. Any who, I really I like it. Thanks for sharing....

Thanks for the kind words guys! To answer a few questions. I'll answer the PMs when I'm not on my phone.
-Everything I do is digital and created on a computer.
-I used to do a lot of client work, visualizing projects and such. It just got to be out of hand and what was once a fun hobby turned into a stressful 2nd job that didn't pay very well. I've since pulled back to just making stuff for myself and a very limited handful of select clients.
-I appreciate the corrections when things aren't right. Sometimes in the heat of it I make edits. i.e. the rear brakes just looked small inside these 18's, wanted to fill them out more.

Excellent work! Do you mind telling us what modeling software you are using? I used to teach 3D modeling using Unigraphics NX, (now apparently called Siemens NX) so I can really appreciate the amount of work you have put into these models.
