Default Front Seat Belts Twisted

Hi All,

Could someone confirm that my front seat belts seem to be twisted?

I presume the belt should be straight from floor to where it goes into the housing, not like in my case.
The thing I don't understand is, the bottom of the belt seems correct, since the metal bracket at the bottom has a slight curve and I assume it is correct that the curve points very slightly into the cabin. What about the label? Is this normally against the sill or facing into the interior?

I can't imagine the entire reel would have been installed incorrectly, or could it? I am not sure what it looks like in there, I have not had it apart.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!!

Mine is the same. If you think about what happens when you pull it across and buckle it, then it all works out. The side of the belt with the stitched label ends up against the driver's lap, while the other side ends up against the chest/shoulder. The turn is at the buckle.

Thanks Mark and thanks for the super fast reply.

Now I think about it, you are right.
The seat belt seems to cut into my neck though in the normal position, so I tend to give it half a twist to the outside (anti-clockwise). The way it rests then, it does not cut into my neck.

Ah well, at least my mind is at ease that this is as designed.
Maybe it is just a combination of my being the wrong height for the 964 and early cars not having height adjustable seat belt anchors.

Thanks again!
