Default MY 02's on the 964

ok, i have a set of 8's and 10's and considered mounting them on my 997...it is a great, timeless wheel to my mind...but they are just a bit small proportionately...and i know...well, i know what i like...anyway...2nd choice -another 1st world problem is to mount them on the 964...not happening- with 285/30's they don't even reach the lugs....my Q is ...whut? do i use all 8" rims and the right tires or...?

You need a spacer to run them, the offset is too high for a 964 without it. Tire size should be 255/35 or 265/35 and 225/40 on the front.

I have them in 8 and 10 and run a spacer in the rear. 235/40 front and 275/35 rear.

They came with the car and I like the look but don’t like running spacers, so I’ll probably swap them out next year.

The 8"/10" MY 02's weigh just 9.3kg and 10.3kg. That's as light as the Hollow Twists that sell for twice the money. You can also bleed the brakes with MY02's without removing the wheel. Rennline sells some very nice lightweight spacers. Keep the wheels, and get some lightweight spacers.

Those look surprisingly good on the 964, I wonder how they affect the ride/handling?

I have them on my car. Different angles for reference. tires are 225f, 285r pilot sport. 25mm spacers on the rear, you would need longer studs. no rubbing. These are great light wheels. I think they look great IMO

Mine’s around 20mm. I use one with built in studs, similar to this one.

Defiantly would be interested to hear anyone running a 265-275 with what spacer in the rear. And what size studs you used to accommodate it.

I have 52's in the rear and I'm hoping to get a set of MY02's as an extra set for track / auto x work. Fairly certain that's not enough stud for a 25mm spacer as OEM cup spacers are 23mm and use 66mm studs.
