Here's another opinion for what its worth.... All of this work was performed by Rothsport in Sherwood, OR. I have a 95 993 C2 lowered with PSS10 to slightly above RS Spec height with RS Tie rods. Overall it's a nice ride. However I wanted something new on my 92 964 C2. Jeff recommended going with JRZ since he has some experience working with them on the Guntherwerks cars. I have JRZ RS1. It's the most basic setup. I paired this with 993 RS uprights from Elephant Racing. The car is lowered to a pinch above RS Spec. Even though much of the suspension is different from a stock 993 to a stock 964 the ride on the 964 over bumps feels superior to my 993. I have no real reason to change out the PSS10 but if I did I would try the Ohlins R&T paired with 993 RS uprights.

Jeff Gamroth wow I have seen his Gemini video and think and heard he is amazing one of one.

What is the part # if you have it for 993 RS uprights. What is the technical name of that part and what does it do? Would you also rec swaybars? I am pure stock but now with Ohlins R&T at ROW on my US C2S Thanks!

Elephant Racing sells the OEM 993 RS Upright and then they make a duplicate version of the part. I believe they did this when Porsche initially stopped producing the RS Uprights. BBI also make a set but I believe geometry is slightly different. Go to Elephant Racing or google to get a better explanation on the benefit to a lowered car than what I can type up here. Jeff did not install upgraded sway bars because both cars are not going to the track and said there was no need with how i use the car. Early AM mountain and country roads.

I did a full suspension and handling refresh last year.

• Ohlins DFV coilovers with solid top mounts.
• Elephant Racing billet RS hub carriers.
• Elephant Racing drop links front and rear.
• Rothsport steering rack brace with poly bushes.
• 993 RSR style (solid) track rod ends.
• 993 front wishbone ball joints.
• Powerflex front wishbone poly bushes, Black series.
• Powerflex rear trailing arm poly bushes, Black series.
• H&R uprated sway bars front and rear.
• DRS adjustable rose jointed rear spring plates.
• Rennline tubular engine carrier.
• WEVO engine mounts.

My Indy thought I'd ruin the ride, due to all the stiffer components...
But after the installation, agreed that it transformed the car!

The Ohlins are currently set half way and are very compliant.
I think the solid track rod ends were the biggest bang for buck, really makes the steering so precise.

What are the spring rates on the Ohlins?

50N/mm + 90N/mm, front and rear, I think.

Interesting- my MCS rates are 70/110. Hoping to have them on soon. Might put a set of Ohlins on the other (stockish) 964 for comparison sake.

Do the ohlins handle relatively flat in the corners?

If I were to go with Ohlins R/T, this is exactly the setup I would need, correct? I was thinking these were more expensive than this - which is why I am checking. I see they also have a kit for early model 964's (89/90).

I have a 1994 factory widebody C4 with narrow rear trailing arms.

I've been back and forth on this, too - and now find myself about to modify 2 964s at once. My RSA, I'm tempted to keep it a little tame OEM+ PSS10s w/OE rubber top mounts, bumpsteer kit and maybe 993 non-RS uprights. If I go the "other" way on it, at this point would probably be like @964George did Ohlins, 993RS uprights and all that stuff.

I know these are old cars and the answers to this question are subjective but - anyone have opinions about nvh when going from some of these spring/shock/rubber setups to coilover/solid top mount setups? Same for the control arm bushings...mono or rubber nvh opinions? My RSA will be a street car and I want it tight and fast but also don't like squeaks, rattles and bangs

In the same boat, Jeff. I am leaning heavily towards the Ohlins and weekly, I almost pull the trigger on them. Would love ANY more opinions/comparisons at this time.

ALso hard to ignore the price difference between say PSS10 and Ohlins. PSS10 = 2600 shipped. Ohlins are what - $4500 shipped?

$4300 shipped with the 5% promo code that I have, but yeah, substantial. If I had 10% off, I would pull the trigger. That's how close I am. lol
