Having just bought my new 964 carrera 4 home, I opened the bonnet and this plug was unplugged ?? I have searched the manual but cannot find what what this does can anybody help please ?

Just for more info I plugged it in and then drove the car it seemed unaffected except the speedo no longer worked ?? so I unplugged it and the speedo worked absolutely no effect on the car
