Default Control Arm Refurb & Front End

Onto my next winter project (down under). Removed the controls arms. I had them soda blasted. Now to install the ER sport bushings next.

More progress. FVD tie rods arrived. Cleaned up the cross members. Waiting for ball joints, ARB bushings, and some hardware.

ER Sport bushings inserted. Still waiting for Ball Joints, bolts, steering rack rubber, ARB bushings, and general clean-up to go.

True, but with everything out of the way at the front end of the car, I will clean up the rack, front diff, etc. Not OTT, but a clean up of the last 29 years of grit.

In New Zealand we drive on the left. So, obviously we turn right more than left. Hence you put the old tie rod that binds on the left and the good FVD one on the right. Simple!

General clean up. Not polishing down here, but most of the 29 years of grime gone...

Looking good... I'm always a little envious looking at these pics. Wish I had the time and space to do this myself... at the moment, it will need to wait if it's completely hidden cosmetic improvement. But man, would I love to go down this road.

Pulled out the steering rack bushings in anticaption of the new rubber ones arriving. They are a little tired, but not a train wreck...

What chemicals did you use to get the grim off, besides elbow grease?

Just general eco degreaser & water. Big plastic shell underneath to catch all the yuk.
