1989 C4 backfires loudly and wont start - distributor issue or something else?

Okay another update: i just tried switching the wires that go into the distributor.
I tested the combination I knew worked-> the rear coil, the rear ignition module, the top distributor
I switched it to the bottom distributor and it did NOT start.
This leads me to believe it is either the bottom distributor, or the spark plugs.
Are there any further tests I can do to see if it is the distributor or the spark plugs? Also, which spark plugs are the bottom distributor connected to?
