Default Anyone here replace a 964 front Targa seal?

My Targa seal has separated at the glue seam. I'm going to glue it with contact cement, but I plan to order a new seal as well. Has anyone documented replacing that seal? I saw an older German video on Youtube, for a Carerra, but I'm guessing the seal was revised with the 964.

I was able to shim the side seal at the wing window to help stop leaks with foam rod and mylar tape, but I'm hoping a new seal would stop leaks. Is this a fantasy?

As you may already know 914's are chronic leakers, which is one reason I made my first 914 Umbrella Cover. I'd prefer not to need one to keep my 964 dry though.

Around the windshield frame? I haven't, but am planning on it. I believe the targa and cabrio have the same gasket.

Use a genuine pork seal, mega expensive but worth it. Take care stretching the seal across the top to position the two top corners at the area it always leaks. Mark the centre of the car and centre of the seal.

Use permatex black seal glue only, anything else is rubbish, this stays a little wetter.

Stretch it as you press down to glue and work towards the corner areas. Position these very carefully.
then down the a pillars.
Regular greasing with vaseline will keep all seals flexible.

Take time to read the German Targa roof adjustment pdf.

This is on my list too although its not a high a priority as the rear one which has worn white and looks ratty. Has anyone changed the rear seal yet? If yes what’s involved with that?
