Just how long does that key need to be? I suppose a long section of stock (10mm?) and a good socket would work.
I think it's 10mm size stock but I can't remember.

Looks like Spokes cut the elbow off a normal 10mm Allen key giving him a straight length of 130mm. He then used it with a 10mm socket. I recall he said this was the minimum so longer is better.

Hi Pete,
John is correct, I recently removed and refurbished my calipers. To remove the rear calliper you do need a long 10mm hex key. Unsure whether you can buy one long enough, so I cut down a Allen key to 160mm, you could go to 170mm.

I bought a set of Snapon tools ( 206EFAML). The 10mm size by itself is part number FAML10E

Make sure you buy a decent one, a Proto, Allen, Snap On etc. I bought a cheapo ball end one from the auto parts store and it just flexed and twisted, I couldnt get enough torque to break the bolts loose. Picked up a Proto brand one from the industrial hardware supply place near my office and it worked just fine.

I bought a Facom long allen 1/2 drive socket from https://www.ultimategarage.com
Great quality and has been one of the most used tools in the box.

Gearwrench from Advance Auto
I just did this job last weekend (rear pads and rotors) on my ‘90 C2 Targa. Advance Auto has a long 3/8” drive 10mm allen key but only as a set; it’s about $35 if I remember right, but good quality.
The long key is just the right length. It fits the lower caliper bolt and has enough length to just clear the trailing arm. I was able to get a 3/8” to 1/2” drive adapter and breaker bar head on the end *without* removing the engine undertray.
Soak the bolts with PBlaster first though. It’s an awkward angle unless the car is on a lift (I used jackstands).

If you are in the United States, just call snap-on for the name & number of your local truck. You can call the guy (or he'll call you) to find out exactly where he'll be and when. He will have the tool on the truck, it will fit perfectly and you won't round off the inside of the fastener.

I’m not looking at the car right now, so grain of salt, but I do not think 200mm would be a problem. You would have to drop the under body tray to make space to swing a wrench but I don’t recall any close limits to allen key length.
