Default Seat movement question

Under hard braking, sometimes my drivers seat feels like it moves forward by about 1/8" to 1/4". I have checked the tightness of both seat rails to where they bolt to the floor of the car.

I have not pulled the seat out to check the tightness of the seat rails to the seat.
I suppose I should check the rail connection here. Movement fore and aft functions properly with no hangups anywhere.

Has anyone ever experienced a similar situation? I don't think it feels normal, but I haven't driven too many 964s either.

Thanks in advance,

I have the same thing on the passenger seat in my 1990 C4. The seat 'clicks' forwards and backwards during hard acceleration and braking.

My local Porsche dealer investigated and concluded that the spindles were worn the electric mechanism: the fore and aft electric adjustment also plays up sometimes.

Apparently you can't just replace the spindles using OEM Porsche parts. I don't know if there is a DIY fix, but for now, I'll live with it.

Yup, mine's the same, and although Ihaven't investigated it, I assumed it was just cumulative wear in the electric adjustment mechanism.

Do you also notice that the back-rest moves back & forth slightly? (especially when no-one sitting in it) This noise drives me mad!
My garage say they can't find any part that can be replaced or tightened to fix it. Anyone?

My passenger seat back also makes noise when it's empty. I wish there was some way to tighten it. Has anyone out there successfully remedied this?

Thanks as always!

Just bringing this up again for possible updates. My drivers seat also moves forward on the rails under moderate braking. Its a very low mileage car so probably not wear.

It will be moving due to degraded plastic in the spacer that surrounds the brass nut on the rail moving mechanism. It’s age rather than use related. I fixed it with a kit from Shapeways.
