I live in Northern CA. I am currently accepting offers until I have appraised. It is a dillema for me as I love the car but I should sell it to be practical, thus I want an objective third party opinion as to the value. I live about 30 miles away from Bruce Anderson (Excellence Magazine-Porsche Value Guru) and I'll be contacting him this week to get an independent appraisal. I certainly don't expect that he would tell me that it is worth anything close to the original sticker from 1992 that was just north of $91k. I suspect that somewhere in the neighborhood of half of that (+/-), but I want to be fair to me and the new owner. If you're seriously interested I'd be happy to contact you after I get with him this week. It may be rough with the hollidays so please bear with me. If you have any other questions please let me know.
$ 45 k, I would get a cherry 89 tubro cabriolet. There are a few out there right now whith great prices on them and very low miles. I have even seen factory smant nose turbo cabriolets for around $ 45K.
It is a great family car... specially for those ages. Ask me how I know... I have a 5 year old daughter and a 1 1/2 son. Both fit nicely in the back seats with their booster/child seat in place. Plus the have a lot of fun with the vroom vroom (as they call the car).
Your car looks perfect and the color is simply beautiful...
Sorry to say this but do not let the wifes opinions MAKE you sell your car, it'll ALWAYS haunt you.. I agree with Kahdmus, buy here something that'll work. Also if Wachuko says it's a great family car, go with that. If it were me (and it's not so this is easy to say) I'd keep the car until I decided it was impractical!
The funny thing is we have a 540i and a Tahoe. The wife just thinks its a waste to ensure only to drive ocassionally. In response to the gentleman that said buy an 89 Turbo Cab.- Those are great cars also. My guess is that b/c there were 844 made there is more of an established market value for them. That and they have the previous body style. It is all subjective at the end of the day. You can't go wrong with either.
