Quarter window molding - spacers?
Hi,
I recently removed my quarter windows and respective black trim moldings. Under one molding there was some sort of black plastic spacer for each of the 5 holes, and on my passenger side nothing. The parts catalog doesn't list anything but the (butyl) sealing tape. My guess is there should be some of these spacers as the molding sans spacers gouged the paint.
Does anyone have the factory part number for these? I can't seem to find them.
Many thanks!

I am probably wrong but I thought I saw where the pieces you mention under the quarter glass trim was the same as the pieces under the door trim with the clips that pop into holes
that pn is 911-531-309-0
that pn is 911-531-309-0

What glass are we talking about here? I might have misunderstood. Sounds like you aren't talking the rear quarter windows but more the felt trim piece that goes between the glass and the door?

Not the felt piece inside the door but the black trim piece above door handle and below glass it runs from back edge of door to front edge of door it has clips that pol into hole in door skin I m not at home so can’t look at the pet

So the cosmetic door trim piece that sits outside the window. 911.531.041(042).30 is the trim piece with the little metal clips that snap into the holes. there is a rubber trim piece that attaches to it to keep water out 911.531.931.(932).02 (this is left and right for coupes. I have never seen anything else

I believe we’re talking the same piece of trim now. I am pretty sure the first pn I referenced goes around clip between door and trim piece

Sorry I can’t find where I thought I saw the pn 911 531 309 00 goes under the molding on the rear quarter glass. I did look and that pn is #4 in pet section on the door molding.
Who ever painted my car back in the 90s just ran a piece of black electricians tape under the molding and nothing under the molding below the rear quarter glass my apologies once again

My trim pieces are off so I I checked no rubber washer currently there but does look like there may have been at one time. Did read a thread today where a guy was replacing his quarter glass seals with 993 seal and he mentions the rubber washers you refer to

Thanks for checking John. The closest I could find from the early 70’s 911 was part 90154342120 - looks very similar and is said to be 1.5mm thick like the one I have. It seems it only supports the thin countersunk hole in the molding. I wonder why it isn’t listed? Any body reinstall their trim without the washer?

My car was painted in around 1998 the washers were not put back on, but I can see where it looks like were stuck to under side of the trim. Also no butyl tape under them either got lucky and didn’t have any corrosion under them although driver side was getting close all the paint just flaked off when I removed the trim I have been thinking about when reinstall them so this inquiry interests me also.

So the part number is correct. I see it for sale from anywhere between $0.74 to $3.71. Porsche says discontinued but no doubt there are sources but not OE.

I did not bother replacing the ones on my track car. Although as you can see in the picture there was an additional layer of butyl rubber to seal the water out and I had cleaned it off mine. The faint line of it is still present.
Honestly unless you are going for serious originality I would try the 3m molding tape and just make sure you get rid of some of the stickiness otherwise you may never get them off again. This should seal out any water and space it out the correct amount. Just don't over tighten the screws. Or spend the $20 and do it as the factory did.
I will add I don't recall seeing these on the later builds so the factory might have discontinued using these sometime through the 964 production as they did with so many things.
