the metal straps are held in by pins at the bottom, moderate tapping with a small screwdriver held against the pin should drive them out

Looks like I'd have to remove the plastic shroud over the engine to get the right side out and left side I could get out but can't see a way to put them back in. I'l just paint them without removing.

A pair of new plastic lenses is ú94 at Design 911. I have a spare right, but that is no use to you are you will need a Left otherwise it will look odd.

I'd probably buy that off you John.. just to see if I can do it. If it works I'll buy the left from d911. Unless they only come in pairs

Were you happy with yours that you did? Do you feel the whole unit would be a better job?

Check with them first to see if they sell singles. The result is ok, and a lot cheaper than complete new lights, but if $ are plentiful then complete lights would be my choice.

it seems the ones you have only come as a pair... there is another brand on there even cheaper but they are probably different. Bugger! $ definitely not plentiful here haha! I'll have to have a think about what to do.

I left my straps in place. I just took some wet & dry to the straps to polish them up. Buffed up the bolt and bits. They still look great.

just had another look at yours. Looks great. Next weekend I'll either polish them or paint gloss black.
What do you recommend for the housing? I was thinking of dropping it off to the powdercoaters tomorrow..

If you are happy with the powder coaters in CHC I would do that, and if they understand treating Mg. I sent my fan and shroud up to Auckland to HPC Paint on a recommendation.
