Default Before I go crazy!

Having just got the car back from a top end rebuild and put it straight into another (trusted) garage
I've seen that the 1st place swapped out the CCU.
The car has 64k (miles) on it and the CCU Looked mint.
This one looks like it's done over 100k and doesn't work.
As a £1600 discontinued exchange item (where you get new internals but not the case) from Porsche Im mad as hell.
Could you guys kindly help me out?
By
A) Telling me if you concur
and
B) The next time you're in you baby you would take a pic of yours and mention the mileage

I need to calm down before I do anything about it!

My car has 90k miles on it and the unit still looks mint. Unfortunately the car is in storage so I can't take pictures.

For £1600, that's atrocious, IMO. For that price, I'd expect new plastic switches and ***** in the least.

Did you trade exchange yours already, or can you get it back? I'd have to think there's services to restore the electrical components of the CCUs for a lot less, assuming your old one is better cosmetically

not following.
someone stole the nice one and swapped in an old used one - that doesn't work?
where is the mint one? they can be repaired reasonably inexpensively.

120k, and all signage is unblemished on mine.
(Before now had NOT appreciated the mar-ability of these buttons w/ 'everyday' usage!)

For $1,600 you should be getting better, sir. IMHO.

MY car's interior wear is on the radio buttons. Button head's paint is growing thin on a few.

I had much the same experience. Had a whole lot of work done at a high end shop that included sending the ccu out for repair. I thought that for the cost ($1500), the switches would be replaced. Didn't happen. 52k

Are you suggesting your CCU was taken out and exchanged for a bunk unit with the hopes you'd not realize? I worry about that with an old BMW and Land Cruiser I have........ not wanting parts to walk off.

Here is mine. Crappy cell phone photo. 116k miles, 90'.

i can't believe that Porsche would send out something like that - let alone the price tag - let alone it doesn't work.
send it back.

As an aside, I never realised the LHD and RHD versions have different layouts. As for the buttons, there’s a lot of money to the person who can recreate them. Car-bone tried it with decals, but the intiial reports were so so on wear.

I’ve just noticed I can make a perfect one of my two
