Default 964 Targa Road Trip SF to LA Some nice pics.

Just picked up a 1992 964 Targa from San Francisco & did a road trip with my sister back to Los Angeles via Pacific Coast hwy - Put over 500 miles on the car, it has 128K miles on it and drove like a dream..the 964 really is the sweet spot between Classic & Modern..& a low production Targa to boot..What a pleasure it is to drive these cars and only went through 2.5 tanks of gas..and that was while enjoying some of the twisties at big sur & going up hills!

As for the drive, what an amazing drive on the 1, we did 3 days- stopping in Monterery/Carmel then the next day we did 17 mile drive which is amazing as well as Big Sur but had to back track since there is a huge mud slide so you can't pass through the 1 past Big Sur we ended up in Morro Bay- and today Santa Barbara & Venture where there are some huge fires.

picking the car up in SF

Carmel Beach

17 Mile Drive / Pebble Beach

Spanish Bay

Bixby Bridge on way to Big Sur

right past Bixby Bridge Big Sur

Big Sur

Falls @ Big Sur

Big Sur

Morro Bay

On the way to Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara

Crazy sky between Santa Barbara & Ventura because of all the fires

its such a great drive. everyone needs to do it at least once. I try to once a year. also nice I you start up north of the bay bridge way up. that part Marin / north of Marin has amazing roads.

Awesome post, we need more posts like this! Road trips, cars out in the wild!
Your pictures really capture the classic look of the car on the road.

we definitely do pay the price to live in CA! Lol. Ps: I’m a p-car Dealer so techinically not In the 964 club as I’ll drive this one for a bit, take car if any issues it has then put it up for sale. My DD is a 997S. This will be the 4th 964 Targa I’ve gotten in past 4 months, I have a thing for the 964 Targa lol.
