Savings are in excess of 450 kg -- and the car has stereo, a/c, carpet, leather, steel doors and fenders.

Thanks Robert

Interesting, that brings it in at under 1000kg. I recently drove a turboed 964 (there's a thread here somewhere) that was stripped out and had carbon doors, wings and bonnet, and that weighed about 1100kg.

Would you consider changing to carbon panels?

Cheers

Actually the original car weighed a bit more than you think as it is a cabriolet, has a version of the Tiptronic and certain other features. The bonnet is carbon fiber -- done to show how well this (as opposed to all other such pieces I have seen) can be done. Doing the other body panels in carbon accomplished nothing from an enginnering point of view so they were not changed.
