Default There go the brakes!

Driving home after running some errands with the wife and the brake warning light/PDAS light come on and what I think was a hard brake pedal.

Drove the car another mile home, open the frunk and this is what I see-

Judging from where it looks like the leak originated- would it be the sensor and/or the o-ring? Looks like everything came out through here, haven't found any other leaks.

Thanks guys!

Ouch, glad you made it home safely. Make sure you do a thorough clean up of the fluid to prevent any damage to the paint and surroundings.

Any ideas?
Am about to take it to an Indy, but if it something I could tackle myself- I'd rather do that!

I can't quite tell, but it seems that your pressure switch has started to fail, causing a leak. If that is the case just order up a new one and replace. Great time to flush your system as well. I don't remember what size socket is needed, but do remember it needs to be a narrow wall, as the space next to the pump is tight.

Based on the photos, my inclination is that it is leaking here, at the pressure switch:

And it looks like that switch is spendy...$312 at Sunset.

Thank you guys for all the help- that is what I have been thinking.

It is a spendy part- but definitely not as spendy as the actual pump! I will see if I can get the sensor and tackle this. Not so much worried about the install of the sensor as what seems like a through process to bleed the entire system.

No way of learning without tackling it, right?

Did that job a few years ago. Can’t remember all the details but I can remember that it was a real tough exercise getting the switch out of the housing. If I remember a stillson and a tough vice we’re used in doing it. You will need to bleed the bomb afterwards. I did it by loosening the bleed nipple and then getting the switch to operate by connecting up the battery as required. I’m sure someone else will add their way of doings things. Good luck.
