Default Targa Carolina 2017

Spent a wonderful weekend in the mountains with a big, and diverse group of cars. What a sight (and sound) it was. I drove over 700 miles and am ready for more. The 964 performed flawlessly the whole time!

We had a little bit of everything on the Targa. 356, longhood, backdate, forward-date, REAL RS and RS rep, and a mint 996 GT3. It was fun watching everyone play together.

Using the real Mags!

Great shots, thanks! Any more pics/info of the white white longhood in the first pic? Looks like a really cool build.

Curious about the rear bumper on this one-- looks different!
Where did you all drive in NC?

It's a backdated '86. Really well set up and on sticky tires (threw lots of gravel on me if I got too close). Driven very well I might add.

Hickory, up 181, 221 to Blowing Rock, 321 to 268 to Wilkesboro and lots of sparsely traveled roads in between. It was a 3 day driving tour! Our guide was a local.

This one is also an '86, but forward-dated, soon to be IROC style.

Nice! Where did you start and end?
Any thought to making this an annual or bi-annual event?

Thx

Yes to annual! The first day we met up in Hickory, then we were based out of Blowing Rock for the weekend. I get out a couple times a year with smaller groups too. Lots of great back road more local too, North of Chapel Hill all the way to the Danville, VA area. Where are you in VA?

There were two versions of the decal, but can only find pics of the "Maxell 90s" version.

Hey Jetta, I'm actually up in DC/MD but have a couple of bud's down that way. One over towards Rocky Mount that I come down to see and do a bit of Porsche work with, another Porsche friend who's grand-ma is over in Hickory, and another over near Danville.

I was down in Charles City today to visit /Scott and saw the white SC with "the decal" in the window.

Regards,
