Default Jacking

Ok so after reading all the previous threads about putting our cars on 4 jack stands, I need to ask something. First most of threads seem to be located in the 993 section. It looks to me that you could jack from the back jack point, put a jack stand under the front, do that on both sides, then you'd have the front on jack stands. Then to get the back on jack stands and avoid jacking the engine(controversial as it seems), as our cars have an L shaped jack point in the back with two separate holes for jacking. Couldn't you jack at the inner point and still have enough room to just fit a jack stand by the outer hole? I have not tried this yet as the car is fairly new to me, but it looks like it might work. Any thoughts?

All of the jacks and jack stands I've seen would interfere with the placement of the jack when the car is jacked up. I use an AC jack and Esco stands.

Ok yea I've just ordered Esco jack stands so I'm still waiting on them to try. I need to go buy a jack tomorrow as well. Like I said I have not tried, it just looked like it might be possible so I thought I'd ask. Thanks for the response!

I've had great success with Jackpoint Jackstands. http://www.jackpointjackstands.com

You can jack from the rear and slide jacks under the front as you describe. But jack from the rear with Jackpoints and you're all done in one motion.

If you have the cash, go for an AC Jack. They have the quality, low height start and reach that are perfect for our cars.

+964 Harbour Freight carries a two ton low profile long reach jack that suits well, and many are satisfied with the unit. https://m.harborfreight.com/2-ton-lo...not%20provided

I bought the HF jack and it spilled hydraulic fluid all over my driveway. So I opted for the AC jack. Youcan buy three of the HF jacks for the same money, but you get what you pay for.

this is the way to do it
AC jack is bullet proof heavy as hell but if you want it sturdy the is NO substitute

Esco stands are the ones to get.

jackpiont works too, but after doing this for a decade, AC and Esco is faster than jackpoint.

As others have said, the AC Hydraulics floor jacks with the Esco jackstands is an outstanding combination. Jackpoint would be fantastic for some minor work, but doesn't get the car high enough to do a lot of things.
