Whats up everyone, i recently bought a 1990 964 Targa with the intention of driving it for a little while then selling it for a small profit. I already have a 997S thats my daily driver personal car, i however deal in 911's and i've bought and sold a few air cooled cars but this one is just so special, and also its 1 of 158 made that year!
The 964 maybe the ultimate Targa? (I'm a Targa fan) its almost as smooth on the road as my 997S and AC works, shifts smooth.and such a rare color combo..when will i ever run into another one of these cars in this condition with this color combo again? i doubt it will happen...
Really considering selling my 997S which is my BABY i've done so much to it..& just keeping the Targa!

Keep the 964. You'll have a way easier time finding another 997S. Silver on Red is a classic! Really nice looking car.

Wow, the thread on Great American 964s for sale is an eye opener.
If I read it right, you buy and sell cars as a business. If that's correct I don't imagine you need our advice. That makes me wonder whether this post is more of an advertisement. If you like it better than the 997, keep it, if you don't, sell it. Simple.
FWIW a car's rarity is not necessarily an indicator of desirability. Unless it was a limited edition it may simply mean it didn't sell well when new.

My 10,000 plus posts on 964s over the last 16 years are testament to how much I love these cars. If you need help with a problem and I know something that might help I will try to assist. I'm just not sure what the problem is that you need solved?

Goodbye? i've been here before you even knew what a 911 was- you just here to talk smack like that other jerk off? some of you guys on here sure do have a chip on your shoulders- you see nothing wrong with questioning someones integrity or messing with their liveleyhood? of course i went off on a rant because of that jerks comments- i sell one or 2 cars a month, and post maybe 1 car every 6 months on PCA does that hurt you? does it mess with your life? is offering a good clean rare car to other enthusiasts a crime? i'm not a big volume dealer what so ever-

Definitely keep it! While the 997 may be a "better car" (in quotes as not to start a flame war) on many levels, it's value is going down like all the water cooled cars. The 964 however is a better investment than the stock market, and you get to drive it!
Of course when the next "market correction" hits, which it's sure to do, values will take a temporary hit, like they always do. Ride it out, figuratively and literally![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
FWIW, I thought I was "settling" by getting a Targa instead of a coupe, and was I wrong!

If it's the silver/red car from KC, I'd keep it!
That car was under-market and owned by an enthusiast.
I would have jumped on it, but I just sold a 964 Targa and I have too many cars as it is.
997S are a plentiful. Keep the nine-six-four Targa
