Default Scantool Help!

I'm faced with a comedy of errors!

I am under the gun to get ready for a DE! Today, the engine runs like crap! Pulled out my Scantool and get it to read a Motronics code #21 - Airflow Sensor....then....the USP interface just breaks and falls apart! I tried reconnecting the plug wires and soldering the loose one, but to no avail, so I will need to order another one.

I just have so much to do that I need help, since I just cannot spend the time to research! Now for my plea...what and where is the Airflow sensor?

Any details to help sort this out quickly will be appreciated.

thanks TUTALOU

Airflow sensor is directly downstream of aircleaner. Its 'barn door' type. In flow of air moves the door open indicating airflow. Connector is on left-rear of housing.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting.

Thanks, just got done flushing the brakes, putting in the PF97's and mounting the slicks.

Put in a Steve Wong chip last month and he convinced me to go from a MAF that I had installed for 10 years, back to the barndoor! I will have to pull it all apart and see if it's OK, otherwise, pull the chip and go back to the MAF.

Make sure connector to AFM wasn't modified or an adapter installed to accommodate MAF.

I went back to the Barndoor in June, and it was running fine. Drove it 100 miles on Saturday with no problem....then, Sunday, nothing but hard starting and rough idle and hesitation!

Tonite, i will pull out the entire intake, as I see oil residue along the intake runners...hope that it is just a cleanup!

Need to replace the USB-RS232 adaptor,I know that I need the FTDI chipset, hoewver I don't recall if it needs to be a Null modem. Confirmation would be appreciated.

Thanks, I don't need the Null modem, so it's already on order from Amazon Prime.
