Default 964 Wide Body Cabriolet

Does anyone know if there was a Wide Body cabriolet option in 1990 -1991?

Dear Steve,
No there was not. The only widebody in model year 1991 was the 964 Turbo. The reason was the rear suspension and the wheels being used. Once these problems were solved the wide body was offered in a very limited range. The 964 Turbo provided the answers by the way.

there`s been a turbolook cabriolet of the 964 in 1992 - I owned one of
702 builded ones. it comes with the normal 250 HP engine, turbo suspension, brakes and wide body. it was full equiped with full leather, soundsystem, full electrical power seats and 17 inch cup wheels. the price been 185 K germanmarks at this time.

its been the badest 964 i owned from 4 - its too heavy and the agility
from the normal C2`s been much better with exeption braking power.
it`s a poser 64 - if you prefer performance look for a normal one.

Thanks Adrian. I was trying to get some info on wide body cabriolets. I just bought a white America Roadster. Is there any site that has alot of details on these cars?

Cay,
Nice car. I have to figure how to upload pictures here. I tried once and the system wouldn't let me.

Hi Steve,

What particular questions did you have in mind? As the new owner of a recently acquired '92 America Roadster, I'd love to discuss.

Dear Steve,
Running the risk again of making a sale pitch. All you need to know about the 964 widebodies, American Roadster is all in my book. I have gone inot quite a bit of detail on this. Lots of pictures the system differences btween narrowbody and widebody. How to detect a fake. How they were originally equipped and the list goes on. I even cover the widebody Speedster of which only 15 were built with pictures of one. Very very rare pictures as well.

Adrian

here are pics from one of the 15 WTL Speedsters I´ve looked last year by a P Dealer cuz I was interested to buy. This car comes from Mallorca/Spain, was in a TERRIBLE condition (it`s new painted so it looks nice on the pics).
It was one of the worsest 964 I ever checked and its a real pitty cuz its a nice and rare model and I love this rare color especially on this car very much:

there are a couple of wide body speedsters around but you must take care cuz most of them been modified cars from Techart etc. This mint one was the first and last one from a original widebody I seen so far

Dear Cay,
How did you know it was genuine? I have the list of the owners of these 15 WTLs and none was from Spain and all were connected to PAG in some way. Only very special original Speedster customers were offered this option. It was never offered as a general option.
Did you see the original paperwork? There must be a statement from a particular place within Porsche to determine it was genuine.

Cay,
I liked the color of your old car. I have seen it on the regular C2.

Adrian,
What is your book called? Would love to take a look at it. I have always had the Turbo Porsche's(and still do) and I"m more familiar with them. I just would like to see pix and if there any special options etc..

WilliamO,
Very Nice! I drove mine last week. I am waiting on the car to arrive at my home sometime next week. I will try and post some pix that I took of it last week.
