After years of fighting the cancer in aircooled VWs I finally took the plunge and bought a very bare but rust free 1990 964 C4 Tub-admittedly on a whim. Its going to be a HUGE project but it was the only way my wife was not going to divorce me for bringing home a Porsche when she is 7 months pregnant. I have ordered Adrian Streather's Enthusiast's Companion for the 964, what other resources for a newbie are usually recommended? The most intimidating part for me right now is the transmission, any recommendations of what to read to get a better handle on the AWD system?

Thanks,

Rob

You cannot do better than a set of the 964 factory shop manuals as thats THE source for such information.

Good luck with your new project!!

I found the book "Carrera 4 Porsche Allrad 1900 -1990" informative. Early chapters are background but later chapters dive into the 964 AWD in some detail on operational level.
