Default No spoiler warning light with fixed rear spoiler

Hi Guys,

I recently converted a 964 to a 965 turbo and the rear lid to a fixed GT 1 wing. I disconnected the wiring harness that goes to the lid, but the rear wing warning light still comes on
What else is needed to kill the warning light ?

Thanks in advance for any help.
Elliot

On the 10-pin connector in the engine compartment you need to jumper pins #3 and #7 to each other.

Moderator's Edit: Here's a link to another DIY on this same procedure.

Elliot, easiest way is to go under the dash, just to the right of the console (passenger side) and disconnect the rear wing module. You need to identify it: Pull back the carpet away from the firewall area, look for a two inches wide, 5inches long gray plastic box. I'ts held by one (1) phillips screw and has a plastic stud that inserts into its bracket.

I've read that this is what Porsche NA did when racing the vehicle. I did this to my Amer. Roadster.

good luck, Jaime

That only works for model year 1991 and up. model year 1989 and 1990 are different and disconnecting the control unit causes problems elsewhere.
Ciao,
Adrian.
