What can be removed under the intake?

Mike, about 20 bucks as far as I can tell if you use factory parts, or about 5 dollars from a parts store.

How time consuming is the process? Does only the intake manifold have to come off?

I couldnt answer that the motor is out of the car currently. I do know tha the manifold would have to come off, the cycling valve be removed (I assume since the lines go to it), but aside from that now that is has been explained it is so simple that the way it IS done seems really ignorant.
