Question About Front Spring Spacers
Hello;
I'm getting ready to buy a new pair of 250# front springs for my '86 951. I would like to lower the front end an inch or so. I'm getting conflicting application data from some catalogs and what Paragon says on their site. The catalogs say, specifically, that the '86 951 requires spacers to fit the springs. Paragon says the only reason I would need them is to maintain the stock ride height. Can someone tell me what I need to put a pair of 250's in this car while lowering it slightly?
Thanks -
Doug

I have a set of 250lb eibachs in my front ,car will lower 1-1.5 inches, I'm assuming you have a normal not s type suspension. You are correct in needing spacers to maintain ride height. Make sure your struts are good and bumpstops are in good condition with this setup I've bottomed the front suspension a few times.

The fact that you have Eibach 250lbs springs doesn't mean anything with respect to ride height.
If you could, go out, and look at the markings on your springs. The diameter, the rate, and the length will be on the side of the spring.
Then Dmsog would order the springs he needs and be confident about the resultant height.

The information Tony noted will be on 2.25 and 2.5" ID springs but not on the more specific springs made just for the 944 etc.
Paragon does sell a kit which will allow you to use the 2.25/2.5 springs.
Not sure about the spacer

dmsog,
Are you putting stock diameter springs on or going with the more versatile coilover conv. kit from Paragon? Tony's right on. You need the rate and the length to know what's up ride height-wise.

...allright. Spoke to Jason today, and ordered the 250 lb. springs without spacers. The spacers are to maintain the original height, and they do nothing more than that.
This is for a stock-type spring setup, not coilovers.

Thanks for the replies.....
