Default 944 windshield help!

I just had a new windshield glass delivered at great cost

(From http://heatedwindscreen.com/ , they are the only ones who are willing to ship internationally)

As well as two rubber trim pieces off Pelican.

Windshield Seal (Front Outer)
Brand: Genuine Porsche Note: from Chassis #94GN150101 (1986 Porsche 944 Turbo Coupe)
Part #: 993-541-925-00-M100

Rubber Windshield Frame (1986 Porsche 944 Turbo Coupe)
Part #: 944-559-543-03-OEM

But the shop handling the job says i need an additional metal frame that sits below the glass. Is there such a part?

I don't think there is a metal frame. There are 2 clamps that stop the glass from falling. they are probably just wondering what holds the bottom edge. Let me see if I can identify the part on the PET.

the part # is 944-559-031-02. About $10 each and you need 2. There are a few retailers on ebay that have them in stock if your local garage doesn't. Found a pic of one.

Does it look like he'll need the other half of that part combination - 944-559-337-00?

I have read about that metal frame before when I was researching changing my windshield. I was able to successfully pull glass out of a parts car and when I did it didn't look like the frame was there and I was thinking it had been replaced before and they just glued the new one in without the frame

Last time I replaced mine they used the black goop. Topped it off with a rubber seal.

I'm looking to finally replace my windshield. What was the result of this? Did it turn out proper?
