Default 2006 Porsche Cayenne turbo S

When I hit the accelerator the vehicle accelerates as if it is using engine only, seems like there is no power from turbos. The boost indicator rises normally to 8 bars, but there is no power other than the engine power. I could barely beat an old Subaru wagon to change lanes. Problem is intermittent, 95% of the time no power, 5% of the time G forces smash you in the back of the seat during acceleration, and it is all you can do to hold on, as the world blurs by in peripheral vision. Car was purchased used from sea level, and moved to almost 6000 feet AGL. Thinking problem might be MAP sensors, but not sure how many or how to replace, or if that is the problem. had Mechanic run diagnostics on turbos, and he says everything is working as it should, No errors on Turbos, and all associated parts for the turbo are reading and working fine. I have driven other Cayenne turbos, and turbo S's and I have about 1/3rd of the power I am suppose to have. How should I troubleshoot?

Have you checked the cylinder walls?
They are know for that issue.
Check out posts by flat6innovations.

Friends 2008 turbos motor is done due to the cylinders 120,000km on engine.

Details about your vehicle: Performance mods, mileage, check engine light, any strange turbo noise? I had a similar issue with my 06 CTTS boost not coming on... I found out my diverter valves were failing. I replaced them with EVOMS valves and never had an issue since.

Am I the only one who sees this post listed in the 944 Turbo section?

Yeah, seems a little 'out of place'.

The OP is probably checking here as there is a lot of experience with turbo lag...

My cayenne turbo was a beast on the mountain so no way its altitude related. Then again the early cayenne's up to 3rd Gen were all unreliable. My car somehow jumped on the timing chain and lost almost 50% power on part throttle . Car had broken coilpacks and went into limpmode. I had a small vacuum leak once and the car would barely move.
