Are the small versions the 38mm ones? Do they need asaptor plates or are they direct bolt on? How much do they cost on average?

All Tials require adaptors - I'd go with the 36mm from SFR, on special for about $300 with adaptors now. There is zero reason to run a larger wastegate.
