Default Best way to tell if engine mounts need replacing?

Is there a measurement of any kind to determine if the engine mounts have compressed to the point where they need replacing? I replaced mine 8 years ago (30,000 miles), and am wondering if it's about time to replace them again. Also, since it's primarily a track car, I'm thinking of going with the Lindsey Racing Ultra-Mounts (not the solid ones - I still drive the car on the street a little). Any thoughts on those, primarily in terms of expected longevity? The original Porsche units are ridiculously expensive, and everybody advises staying away from the aftermarket pieces. Thanks.

So a mount that's been removed from the car needs to be a minimum of 65 mm between mounting surfaces (not sure why the spec uses the word "bearing" - they probably mean "load bearing" - maybe a German-to-English translation issue), and a minimum of 62 mm with the weight of the engine resting on them, correct? Thanks.

It states a minimum of 62mm -2mm so a nominal 62mm with an acceptable tolerance of -2mm. Therefore a minimum of 60mm installed is good.

You can tell just by looking at them. If they look delated then they are collapsed.
