Default Major MAF buy out!!

I would like to tell everyone on here my plan and see if anyone would be interested in it. I have a '86 944 Turbo with Guru chips, reliboost and 3 bar FPR. My plan is to buy a MAF that can work with the system in January/Feb/March (because it would be pointless to put in the winter). I would like to know first off from other drivers who have done this what they like and an advice. The other Major reason is to see if I could get a good amount of people together to do a major buy on the MAF. I think with the right research and a good amount of people we could do a big buy at a place and get a good deal because of it. So anyone that is intersted please speak up and who ever else, your advice would be great. Thanks.

I'm interested especially after winter as well (need to save up)...but if you can get this together i'd be in.

I really like the look and features of the Lindsey kit, but thats just my preference

Are you talking about purchasing a MAF conversion kit, or just the sensor?

I would be talking about the whole MAF without the chips/reliboost (at least for me). That way if I can get enough people on board and talk to Lindsey or who ever, that we can get a good deal. I would like to know before Christmas that way we can put the order in like January or early Feb. so they have enough time to make the order. I would like that with 10 people we could knock off about 15% of the final price on the parts, that would be good. At Lindsey the MAF cost $995 (little more then I wanted to start off with) but with a 15% discount maybe a little more, we could get it down to $800 or so. In that kit comes so many items that is why it's hard to beat for the price plus all the equipment. Other sites I have looked at include: Autothority.com , GURUracing.com ($895) , pro-flow.com (Luke has one from there) , Huntleyracing.com ($1,195). If anyone knows any others or has ones they like over other ones, please let me know. I would like to get the MAF for around $500-$600 but then again I don't need the FPR or the chips so I wouldn't have to buy them.

Why don't you buy a used MAF or MAP?

Why not just build the damn thing yourself. It requires: 1 MAF (basically any will do), some sort of fuel controller (ARC-@ can be had for about 200 bucks used if you look), a few pieces of hose and reducers, and a pipe to be made. Right now I have about 400 bucks to get it working. You can use the stock DME chip and run an aftermarket KLR chip (if you wish to run higher boost).

OR as suggested buy a used one. They come up all the time in the 700 dollar range.

I've had a MAF for the past couple of years and very happy with it. Couple of comments.

Aren't you better off buying a new chip when you put in the MAF (for tuning and compatibility purposes?).

Used MAF shouldn't cost $700 US? Seems high.

If I were to do a new install, I would seriously consider Vitesse (not available when I did mine).

Occasionally, I have seen them lower but 600-700 seems to be the norm. As far as the chips I am almost positive Tony G is using a stock DME chip and he is running far more HP than stock.
