I understand from what's mentioned on the ATP website that a new Tial housing is actually needed for the GTX3584RS :

"The Garrett GTX3584RS includes a new blade profile "RS" turbine wheel and is NOT compatible with turbine housings designed for Garrett GT35, GTX35, and GTX35 GEN2 series models.
Please also note that TiAl does not currently produce a turbine housing for the GTX84RS - Therefore ATP is offering this "TiAl compatible" turbine housing option in order to make this turbo "Kit Compatible" into existing Turbo kits that utilize the same style turbine housing."

How do the Garrett Ni-Resist housings compare to the Tial SS ones?

Anyone here sourced their turbo from Turbokits.com?

No, what they mean is that the current Tial housings are not compatible with the 84RS and that the Garrett housings are not compatible with Tial flanges. So they make their own housing for a drop in replacement for say someone running a GTX turbo with Tial housing.

I've spoken to them directly about this as well.

Ok then, but your previous post makes it sound like their new turbine housing is swappable with the current ones from Tial :

Anyway, I imagine a pair of GTX3582R w/Tial 1.06 coming up for sale some time soon...

Ah I see what you mean
What I meant with 100% replaceable is on the car side. E.g. you retain your current header and downpipe setup and bolt this turbo on using ATP's own turbine housing for the 84RS.

Well I'd have for sale a GTX3582r w/ .63, .82 & 1.06 housings as options lol...ish...
As Pauly mentions, might be worth some more data on these. My concern is with the new motor that the current turbo might become overspun.

Patrick, I'd at least upgrade to the GTX3582R. That way you don't need to buy new housings ect and you still have all 3 to play with. At least that way you can play with more HP with out working the turbo as hard as the GT.

I can't see the GTX3582R Gen2 as a worthwhile upgrade to the Gen1 that Patrick already runs, especially on a 16V engine with a top end that may really shine only if used with a turbo that flows "much" more than what either of the Gen1 or Gen2 GTX3582R can flow... GTX3584RS or bust I suppose.
