Finally got the O2 sensor hooked up, pics
Ok, after the disastrous previous attempt, I armed myself with an M18x1.5 tap as suggested in the earlier thread... https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...highlight=good
Getting ready...
Say hello to my little friend! Notice how handy it is to have the hole in an easily accessible spot..?
Also did an oil change at the same time. Notice my hugely motivated look.. plus the O2 sensor hanging in the background
Best tool ever to get the oil filter out. I can't believe how I managed to do this without it previously...
I didn't feel like trying to hook the damn thing to the DME wiring, so I just put a new rice-y blue wire in there..
Weird angle
Finished product! YES! (sorry for the blurry pic)
Now, with the gauge working properly, I just couldn't leave the MAP tuning for later... so a friend came along and we went cruising, changing the settings and trying to figure out how it all works. In the end we got it pretty damn well set, only minor modifications to some specific zones and the car goes now like a raped ape! GRRREAT!

Autometer carbon fiber series, mechanical boost gauge and a/f gauge. I haven't managed to take one good picture of those, for some reason it always turns too dark and blurry or completely ruined by the sucky flash on my camera
At first I wasn't sure if the whole carbon fiber thing is too boy racer but they don't really stick out too much, and match my cd-player pretty well.
... time to sleep now, it's ~2.30 am in here ... gotta drive more tomorrow, I'm hooked again

Sami - do you like that Blaupunkt? I have a San Fran CD-70(which it looks like you do to). I cant stand it. Never can get the radio to function correctly, etc. It is in my RX though.

Todd, it's supposed to be somewhere close to the turbo if I'm not entirely mistaken. Tight spot for sure! I couldn't find any sort of a plug anywhere even though PET says all 951 exhaust pipes have the hole for an O2 sensor, just capped for euro cars without cats... hence had to get one made.
Matt, I think the blaupunkt is pretty good, but I have to admit I only listen to cd's ... it did have a pretty good radio reception, but apparently the antenna wire came off and now I can't get any stations. One of those things I'll need to check over the winter...

I am glad I didnt pay 700 bucks for it (that was the original asking price in the US). Seems to work OK but it has been back to Blau twice for repairs.

Ok, found the manual for the player, it's San Francisco RDM 169, ie. a few years older model. Doesn't do MP3's.... got it second hand from a fellow p-car guy, reasonable cost. 700$ is just nuts, I wouldn't pay that much either
