Tranny let loose on track today....
My trans let loose on track today. Do I rebuild what I have or just locate another used tranny? How much does it cost rebuild one and are there any preferred builders? Thanks

depends on what you have now and what Lart has in stock. Rebuilds done correctly aren't cheap.
Greg Brown built a trans for me about 10~ years ago for about 2k. Installed a Quaife at the time, but that's another bad....story. The Quaife not Brown.

Ooh sounds like time for an upgrade. Depends on what you have torn up, synchronizers are fairly easy, something large that let go and tore up stuff while rattling around is a different story. I would look at a 6-speed if Lart has one with some sort of LSD.

Full rebuild would cost you between $1800 and $2000 for a 5 SPD with LSD. Add another $800 is it is a 6 SPD. I have a low mileage used 6 speed with LSD if interested.

Would the 6 SPD you have be a direct replacement or would some modification be necessary? Would the first gear ratio be higher or lower than the 5 SPD?
