Looking for information on a 1987 turbo
I posted this in the regular 944 forum and didn't get much feedback so I am trying here
always wanted a 951, always looking at them and will buy one day (maybe soon if this is truly rare)
I happened on a 1987 Turbo in white with light grey interior with a sunroof delete, besides that on the option tag it says C78, and ED0. I can't find out what these options are but the car appears to have sport seats as well. I ordered a vin decode from Suncoast but won't get it until maybe Monday of next week. If this is "Special" I may jump now.
The car has 139K miles on it and NO history, runs well (to me) will need a good cleaning and I know timing belt and water pump (preventive, since no history)
Asking price is 12K (I think high considering no records) what do you guys think?
The option codes I got off the sticker are as follows
Color L90E/ (Alpine White)
Interior LQ (Light grey, looks beige)
codes,
C78= no idea
ED0= no idea but some research suggest it is several items put together as an "Exclusive" package (waiting for information from Suncoast)
158=Blaup. radio (still there)
220=Limited slip diff
474=Sport shock absorbers
533=Alarm sys
946=Leather/leatherette seats
I ran a carfax (i know its not worth much) no accidents reported and looks like 4 owners
I was not planning on picking up a 944 for a couple more years as I have other projects but if this is truly something "special" I would pick it up now
Thanks for any input

I offered them $8k on the car and they wouldn't take it. It does have desirable options which adds value.
$12k definitely seems a bit high to me because there is no history on the car so will potentially need a lot of $$ in maintenance.

(okay, I'll delete the llink)
Mileage is a bit high for $12k ask, but it does have sport seats. If the paint is good, dash uncracked, and engine bay unmodified, then I would consider $12k from a dealer pretty reasonable.

Resurrecting a thread w/a Q about 87 Turbos. Give me credit for doing the search so I wouldnt start a new thread!
Were 474 Sport Shock Absorbers std on the '87 944 Turbo? The Fact Book says they were, but Im having second thoughts based on a cpl other things Ive seen.
What say you, Gods of knowledge?

Perhaps you are getting confused with the '88 Turbo S & '89 Turbo, which did include the M030 package that included Koni's as standard equipment.

Ive got another question on the 1987 944 Turbo. Was 414 External Transmission Oil Cooler standard or an option?
Here's what I found interesting:
- On 1987 window stickers where Ext Trans Oil Cooler its not listed under standard equipment, but some cars have it under the add-on options list for $274.00
- I have also found 1987 944T window stickers were the Ext Trans Oil Cooler IS listed under standard equipment -- and in those cases I dont see cars that I have found with it also listed as an add-on option.
So it kind of seems like for some period it was standard and for another period it was an option -- in the same model year. Can this be true?

but beware of option stickers I once bought a car with a 220 option 5R sticker and the transmission was swapped with a standard differential, you can't trust these libertarians

Car was originally sold in NJ. Car had a June '87 production date. Ive heard some of the early 87s had the oil cooler standard, then later '87s it was optional. The Dealer Fact Book says its optional. But some original window stickers show it both ways.
Having the code on the option code sticker doesnt tell me much because those list both standard and optional items.
