Default GT-Racing fiberglass body panel fitment?

Anyone used GT-Racing for wide bodies? Can you comment on their fitment?

Thanks.

They have race car like fitment. That is to say, if you want to put these on a street car, expect to have to do alot of work to get them to look nice.

Well they are going to be used on a track car. but i obviously don't want it to look like a 3yr old has put it together.

They will take some work but not huge amounts. I like my gaps to be even and the panels to be flat, I am a little OCD that way. Took a couple of weeks to get it the way I wanted it. Probably take a good body man a couple of days.

By moving it around and placing it ect. or by cutting and re glassing?

I've never had to do this before so hence the few questions.

We have them on the rear of my car. Apparently they weren't too bad to fit. I've always heard IFC to be the best fit.

Sanding, cutting, re-glassing. I also glassed in an aluminum plate to the front fender to be able to bolt it to the fire wall like the stock fender is attached.

I suppose "good" or "not bad" means different to everyone.

Fiberglassing supports or sheets to it isn't hard. I'm most concerned about what am i actually cutting to get it to fit.
I've made things from fiberglass before, but never had to cut and fit something.

True. It's all subjective. Just thought I'd report that as GT often gets slammed for their poor fitting. Also assume some panels are better than others of course. And...many of our cars are actually different from each other. So a the same panel may require more/less work to get it to fit different cars.

gt-racing has gone through changes over the years. They have recently put a lot of money into the business and process, including a new guy that does fantastic work. Joel, the owner, is a friend of mine and local. I have helped him source some parts for making new molds and test fitting. His new fiberglass guy, as of about a year or so ago, does some fantastic work. But yes, everything will need to be finished off by a body shop. Thats just the nature of fiberglass. When i bolted the new hood on my cayman, it was a great fit, light and strong. I had his new 944 hood in my shop and wanted to test fit it for some pics and review on my 951, but didnt get the chance before he had to ship it to a customer. Definetely a good looking piece. Which parts are you contemplating?

Be surprised that they'd update their parts for the 924/44 anytime soon though?

They just finished a new hood with foam core reinforcement to make it lighter and stronger than his last hood. And it's not all about building new molds, but updating the process as well for better quality control.

Tsmith: I haven't really decided what body i want to go with just yet. I was interested in the "GTR" front bar and 1/4. or the CGT kit initially.

If this is "race car" fitment. It would annoy me having different gaps ect that's visible from a distance.
